Viva La Danza 2026 - 20 Year Anniversary Dance Show
Hi parents and guardians — it’s Team NSOD here!
We’re delighted to announce that in 2026 we’ll be returning to The Courtyard Theatre for our 20-Year Anniversary Show, Viva La Danza.
This will be our third production at The Courtyard Theatre, and we’re so excited to be back performing on their fantastic stage as we celebrate 20 years of NSOD.
Below you’ll find all the key information you need, including performance dates, rehearsals, and what to expect for your dancer.
All School Summer Dance Show – FAQs
What is the All School Summer Dance Show?
Viva La Danza is our all-school summer show and a very special celebration of 20 years of Nicola’s School of Dance. The show brings together dancers from across the school to celebrate two decades of dance, creativity and community.
When is the show taking place?
The performances will take place from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th July 2026.
There will also be a full dress rehearsal at The Courtyard on Wednesday 15th July 2026.
Where is the show being held?
The show will be performed at The Courtyard Theatre, Hereford (HR1 9JR).
How long is the performance?
The performance will run for approximately 2 hours, plus an interval.
Please note that our Little Stars classes will perform in Act One only, check your sign up letter to confirm which shows they area also in.
What time does the show start?
The evenings shows start at 6.45pm and the Saturday matinee at 2pm. We will advise you closer to the date what time your child will need to be at the Theatre.
Will all classes be involved?
Yes — all current Nicola’s School of Dance classes will be taking part in Viva La Danza. Our youngest dancers in Little Stars are not in all the shows, please check your sign up letter.
My child is in a Little Stars and a Junior Class which show are they in?
If your child attends any junior class they will be in ALL the shows and required at both the extra rehearsals and dress run (see below).
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets go on sale on Friday 6th March and will be available directly from The Courtyard box office.
How much are tickets?

Adults: £25

Who do I contact about tickets?
All ticket enquiries should be directed to The Courtyard box office, who will be happy to help.
When are rehearsals?
Rehearsals will take place during your child’s normal class times, and we do not currently plan to add any extra weekly rehearsals.
There will be two cast run-throughs at Broadlands School on:

Friday 26th June (Junior and Senior Classes only)

Sunday 12th July (All Classes)
Times and venue for these rehearsals are to be confirmed.
Is attendance important?
Yes — good attendance at classes is essential to ensure your child learns and feels confident with their dances for the show.
Do parents stay during rehearsals?
Parents are welcome to wait outside during rehearsals unless they are one of our designated chaperones or backstage helpers.
Is there a participation fee?
Yes, there is a participation fee which helps cover the cost of additional rehearsals, costumes and the show T-shirt.
If your child attends more than one class, a reduced additional fee per class will apply.
All participation fees are due by 1st April 2026.
Will my child need to have their hair and make up done for the show?
Yes — specific hair and make-up requirements will be in place for the show.
Full details will be shared closer to the performance date.
What time do dancers need to arrive on show day?
Arrival times are to be confirmed and will be shared once the show schedule is finalised.
Where do we drop off and collect our children?
Drop-off and collection arrangements are to be confirmed and will be communicated clearly ahead of the show.
Will children be supervised backstage?
Yes — all children will be fully supervised backstage at all times by our team and chaperones.
Can parents go backstage?
Backstage access is limited to approved chaperones and backstage helpers only.
Do you need parent volunteers?
Yes — we are incredibly grateful for parent volunteers to help backstage, including licensed chaperones.
Each performance requires approximately 40 helpers to ensure dancers are safe, supported, changed and in the correct place at the right time.

Can parents take photos or videos during the show?
No — photography and filming are strictly prohibited during the performance.
We will be using a professional photographer and videographer, with further information about purchasing photos and videos coming soon.
What happens if my child is ill on the day?
As we have four performances, we hope that any dancer who is unwell for one show may be well enough to perform in a later Viva La Danza performance during the run.
Are dance classes running on the same dates as the show?
No, all classes have ended for the summer term by the 15th July.
