1. What styles of dance and theatre do you teach? We specialise in Ballroom & Latin, Musical Theatre, Cheer Dance, Commercial Street & Hip Hop, Drama, and Contemporary. All classes follow the UKA syllabus and are tailored to suit age and ability.

2. Do I need to audition to join? No – everyone is welcome! Whether you’re here for fun, confidence building, or preparing for a career in the arts, there’s a place for you.
3. How do I register? All registrations are completed online through our booking system, Membermeister. Once you sign up, you’ll be set up with a monthly direct debit through GoCardless.
4. Do you offer trial classes? Yes – we offer a two-week paid trial. After the trial, we’ll be in touch to confirm if you’d like to continue.
5. How much are classes? Fees are paid monthly over 11 months (no payment in August). 55-minute Dance & Drama class – £30/month 90-minute Dance class – £44/month Musical Theatre Superstars – £25/month Musical Theatre Junior & Senior Cast – £52.50/month
6. What should students wear to class? We have a set uniform from January 2025. Each style has its own uniform (e.g. NSOD dresses for Ballroom & Latin, NSOD T-shirts for Hip Hop/Street, Charming T-shirts for Drama/Musical Theatre). All items can be purchased from our online shop, and dance shoes are professionally fitted by us.
7. Do you run exams? Yes – we are UKA-accredited and hold exams twice a year. Children progress through the medal test system, with a presentation after each exam day to celebrate achievements.
8. Do you put on shows and performances? Absolutely! NSOD will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with a 4-night dance show at The Courtyard in July 2026. Charming stages two musicals a year plus a drama show. We also have showcases, competitions, and parties throughout the year.
9. How do I cancel my child’s place? You’ll need to email us at admin@nicolasschoolofdance.co.uk with one month’s notice. For example, to stop payment on 1st November, you must email by 30th September.
10. What happens if I miss a class? Unfortunately, missed classes cannot be refunded, but we do our best to make sure students stay on track.
11. Do you offer extra activities outside of weekly classes? Yes! We run Summer Schools, half-term workshops, competitions, and themed parties (like Halloween and Christmas). We also host children’s birthday parties.
